PART 1 - You provide the words
PART 2 - Edit and Underscore (Due by end of class Sept 19)
RUBRIC - 20 Points
- Download the Student Handout and Mixcraft Session Files (links above)
- Unzip Session Files
- Choose one of the three examples and open in Mixcraft
- OPTIONAL - create/find your own story (required for level 2)
- MUTE THE FIRST AUDIO TRACK!!
- You want the final recording to be a surprise, otherwise it won't be as funny
- Read the project document and record your words (creativity here will make the result even better!)
- LEVEL 2 - You must record other people providing the words
- TIP - Edit the names of the time line markers with the words you choose
- You could record all your words with one take or punch them in
- Listen to just your words (First Track still muted) and edit/eq them as necessary
- Visually, line up your words with the story by splitting, trimming, etc...
- Once everything looks good, unmute and mixdown the project to an MP3
- Save mp3 to flash drive as Mixlibs_Part1_LastnameF
- Submit to Mr. Shearer and continue to Part 2.
PART 2 - Edit and Underscore (Due by end of class Sept 19)
- Add FX and EQ to make the recording more fun to listen to
- Add an underscore to match your story (3 tracks of different sounds/instruments)
- Note this must include 2 sounds of pitched instruments (i.e. you can't use all drums)
- Add sound FX where appropriate (Extra Credit for Level 1, Authentic FX required for level 2)
- Mixdown final project down to an MP3 named Mixlibs_Final_LastnameF
- "Copy project files to" new folder on flash drive named Mixlibs_Final_LastnameF
- Submit final mp3 and project files on flash drive
RUBRIC - 20 Points
- Following all instructions (10)
- Quality of product (5) - Balance, Blend, Unity of sound
- Underscore uses at least 3 tracks of different sounds/instruments (5)
