STEP 1 - Select your video
- Review the videos provided here.
- Level 2 - Find your own commercial video, must be approved by instructor
- Watch the videos with and without sound.
- Choose a video you like and for which you feel you can produce the best project
- Other videos may be used, but they MUST be approved by Mr. Shearer and you are responsible for acquiring the video in a format compatible with Mixcraft
STEP 2 - Map out your project - PROJECT REQUIREMENTS (60 points)
- You need to provide a music soundtrack throughout the entire commercial (20 points)
- This is composed by you
- You may use Mixcraft Loops and user created tracks
- Level 2 - User created tracks ONLY
- You must have at least 2 user created tracks
- You need to provide all appropriate Foley sounds and sound effects (10 points)
- You need to provide all voice-overs for people speaking in the video and the narrator (15 points)
- Using your own voice and your classmates' voices
- You need to write the script for those voice-overs and find the voice actors. script must be approved
- You need to create a new tag line (5 points)
- You need to create a sound mark (10 points)
- Begin and end the soundtrack with the sound mark
STEP 3 - Setup your Mixcraft project
- Open a new Mixcraft project with the following settings
- Video Track - checked
- A couple Instrument Tracks
- A couple Audio Tracks
- Snap Setting - Grid
- Mode - Time
- Tempo - 120 (just as a starting point)
- Key - C (or another key you are comfortable with)
- Click OK
- Save the project as Commercial_LastnameF
- Download the video you selected
- Move the video file into the folder of the project you just saved
- Only after you have moved the video should you add the video to your project
